Our Story

Hi

Welcome to Handmade in Hampi, your gateway to artisanal treasures from the heart of Hampi.

At the core of our initiative is Shama Pawar. She is an artist, conservationist, designer, and social impact leader.

For 30 years, she has worked in Hampi, developing rural communities through conservation, creativity, and community engagement. Believing heritage is a resource, her approach emphasizes mindful environmental stewardship by utilizing local materials and practices.

Hand Made in Hampi is an extension of this work, bringing together beautifully crafted, eco-friendly products that sustain local artisans, women, and farmers.

What We Offer

We currently celebrate the beauty of handmade and farm-based craftsmanship by offering a carefully curated selection from three distinct brands:

The Kishkinda Trust – Focused on heritage conservation and skill-building, creating products that honour tradition while embracing modern techniques.

Hari Dharti – A collective supporting artisans and entrepreneurs working with sustainable materials like banana fiber and water hyacinth.

Uramma – A creative space where traditional craftsmanship meets contemporary design, personally curated by Shama Pawar.

We love to unite people through art and conservation. Our products are intentionally and thoughtfully made to support each person involved in their production and ensure that no damage is done to our environment.

Although our work is handcrafted and draws upon traditional techniques, the materials used are totally innovative and unique to our area. Every product tells a story of craftsmanship, care, and sustainability.

Whether you're looking for handmade home decor, eco-friendly accessories, or one-of-a-kind gifts, you’ll find something unique and meaningful here.

By choosing Hand Made in Hampi, you're not just buying a product—you’re supporting a community, fostering creativity, and positively impacting the lives of our artisans.
